Tom: After a stint in France with a great bunch of people via EuCAN - THE EUROPEAN CONSERVATION ACTION NETWORK, sought to further my knowledge of conservation and ecology in the UK by carrying out voluntary work with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust, whilst hunting for a permanent position. This blog will track my thoughts and observations whilst I improve my knowledge in this sector as most of this is experience based and will not have been learnt through my university career. My past has included studying an environmental biology degree and a post grad masters in aquatic biology and resource management with time spent at sea and overseas. But now I’m focusing on what’s out there in the gardens, parks, ponds and wild places of the UK.
